Family Mentoring

What is the Family & Parenting Mentoring Program?
 

Simply put, mentoring is a guided friendship, with Christ at the center.

The family mentoring program is designed to strengthen families, and reinforce parental education and include the use of practical biblical principals of the scriptures. The program will aim to increase family individual self-awareness, as well as communication within the family. Parents will learn how applying biblical principals will have a positive impact on their family life style.

Each mentoring family will be paired with a south side family that our team knows will benefit from their experience and friendship.  The families will meet at South Side Mission once or twice a month to visit, play games, and build relationships.  Sometimes, enjoy a meal or go to a movie. 

Biblical Life Skills Include:
• Mentors will help parents understand the function of families through biblical scriptures.
• Mentors will aid improvement within family relationships between children and parents.
• Mentors will assist parents understanding of the importance of love and compassion in the family unit.
• Mentors will teach parents how to raise their children in the way of the scriptures of God.

South Side Mission's role:

  • Our staff will coordinate the meeting of families,
  • We will give guidance and advice as needed.
  • We will cheer for the success of your relationships.
