South Side Mission is hiring a full-time Maintenance Custodian. The Maintenance Custodian is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the South Side Mission’s premises, creating a welcoming and professional environment for employees, participants, and visitors. This role involves performing day-to-day tasks such as routine building and maintenance repairs, landscaping, and cleaning across multiple sites and facilities. Additionally, the Maintenance Custodian will collaborate with volunteers to support the upkeep and smooth operation of the Mission’s properties. The following tasks are included, but not limited to:

• Perform general maintenance tasks per schedule, including HVAC.

• Electrical troubleshooting and repairs including security systems.

• Plumbing troubleshooting and repairs.

• Ensure that all South Side Mission buildings, vehicles, and equipment are properly maintained. 

• Provide appropriate custodial and janitorial services when assigned.

• Assist with special projects and furniture arrangement.

• Ensure compliance with building codes.

• Oversee and monitor building safety and security.
